The National Insurance Institute announced on Sunday that it has invested approximately 28 million shekels to expand rehabilitation services for victims of hostilities through the "Body, Mind, Spirit" complex initiative. This funding is directed toward creating a comprehensive therapeutic framework offering leisure, sports, therapy, and social activities across dedicated facilities nationwide.

The complexes offer a wide range of options in one place, including swimming pools, gyms, sports and competitive activities, lectures, workshops, complementary mind-body therapies, and family programs. The goal is to establish a welcoming environment where individuals can visit regularly to train, receive care, meet peers, and feel part of a supportive community.

Rehabilitation and Sports Facilities

Among the sports activities available are mini-soccer fields, CrossFit areas, hydrotherapy pools, aqua aerobics, table tennis, clinical Pilates, cycling, and martial arts. Alongside physical training, the centers offer therapeutic and rehabilitative services, including physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, emotional counseling, massages, resilience workshops, and community gatherings.

Services at the complexes are tailored for individuals recognized as victims of hostilities by National Insurance who hold a disability rating of 20% or higher. For these eligible participants, the first year of activity is provided entirely free of charge.

"The commitment of National Insurance to victims of hostilities goes far beyond financial assistance. National Insurance, through its funds, helps them and their families on the path back to routine and as full a life as possible," said Zvika Cohen, acting CEO of National Insurance.

Nationwide Reach and Focus on the South

Currently, National Insurance recognizes over 30,000 victims of hostilities with a disability rating of 20% or more. Approximately half of them reside in the southern region, prompting a special emphasis on accessibility in the area. Three of the selected complexes are located in the Gaza envelope and surrounding areas—in Sha'ar HaNegev, Adi Negev, and Sderot—alongside other centers distributed across the country.

The facilities were selected through a competitive call for proposals, with most qualifying centers approved under the Fund for the Development of Services for Persons with Disabilities within the National Insurance Fund Division. The fund will continuously accompany the project to evaluate usage and field needs, with plans to potentially expand eligibility and service scope in the future.
