Israeli Singer Mika Moshe Speaks Out Against Online Body-Shaming
Israeli singer Mika Moshe faced severe body-shaming online following a radio performance, prompting her to speak out against cyberbullying and set boundaries.

Facing Body-Shaming with Grace
Young Israeli singer Mika Moshe, known for her breakout appearances on musical TV shows and her journey to the final of The Next Star for Eurovision, recently found herself targeted by online body-shaming. Ahead of releasing a brand new single, Moshe opened up on Instagram about hurtful comments she received following her live performance on Galgalatz.
Instead of discussing her vocals or the music itself, many online users chose to focus entirely on her physical appearance, leaving cruel remarks about her weight. "I was in shock that most of the comments had nothing to do with the music or how I sang," Moshe shared in an emotional video. "I received so many comments about my weight, saying I look pregnant, that I eat a lot and gained weight."
"I am strong and I have a support system around me... But it hurts, of course it is unpleasant."
Behind the Headlines and the Music
Moshe candidly admitted that she has indeed gained weight, noting that it is an ongoing personal struggle she is well aware of. However, she questioned why social media users feel entitled to police others' bodies, especially when an artist steps onto a stage purely to share their art. She also acknowledged the unwavering support of her family, her team, and her partner, professional footballer Niv Yehoshua, a midfielder for Hapoel Beersheba.
Despite the sting of the comments, Moshe pivoted the conversation toward the broader issue of cyberbullying and its impact on younger, more vulnerable individuals. Reminding her followers that words carry weight, she urged people to practice kindness online before shifting her focus back to the excitement of her upcoming musical releases and connecting with her audience through songs that touch the Israeli heart.
