Mickey Levy will not be on the 'Beyahad' list in the elections: 'There is no anger or bitterness in me'
Following Meir Cohen, MK Mickey Levy of Yesh Atid has announced he will not run for the next Knesset. He will be appointed as the head of the party's tribunal.
MK Mickey Levy of Yesh Atid has joined Meir Cohen in announcing that he will not run on the joint 'Beyahad' list with Naftali Bennett.
«We agreed that I will not be on the Yesh Atid list for the next Knesset. Yair asked me to serve as the head of the party's tribunal, and I agreed with joy», — wrote Levy to Yesh Atid members. — «I will not be on the list — but I am staying in Yesh Atid. I remain part of this home, of our path and our values. I will continue to be at the party's disposal and serve it as much as I am required, and I intend to work in this election campaign with the Yesh Atid field activists, and do everything together with you for the success of the party. Since 2011 I have been here, from the beginning of the way, and I am among the founders of Yesh Atid. We went a long way together. A way that was not always easy. There were struggles, victories, disappointments, days of joy and also difficult days. But there was always faith in us in the path, in each other, and in our ability to change. Yair did a brave and groundbreaking act then. He established a value-based, democratic, and liberal center party, and succeeded in building a political home that became for many of us a real family».
In an appeal to party leader Yair Lapid and Yesh Atid members, Levy further wrote:
«Yair, my dear brother, I want to say thank you to you. Thank you for the trust you gave me throughout all the years. Thank you for the opportunity to be a partner on the way, to serve the country in significant roles, and to be part of this special journey. I have deep gratitude towards you and great personal appreciation. We went through a great deal together. You were a friend, a partner, and a brother to me. And I tell you this from the heart — I simply love and appreciate you. And to you, my dear friends — thank you. Throughout all these years you were by my side. We fought together, we rejoiced together, we were disappointed together, we got up again and continued forward. You were family to me. And you remain my family. I am finishing this chapter with my head held high, with a whole heart, and with a feeling of great satisfaction for the privilege that was given to me to serve, to do, and to influence. There is no anger in me and there is no bitterness in me. There is in me mainly great gratitude and pride for the path we took together. I am not parting from Yesh Atid. I am not parting from you. I am only finishing one chapter in a long and significant journey. I believe in you and am sure that the friends who will continue to carry the burden will lead Yesh Atid forward, and will continue to fight for the image and future of the State of Israel. Thank you for years that I will never forget».
