Lionel Messi Dress Steals the Spotlight at Miss World 2026 Pageant

Lionel Messi has won almost every possible title on the pitch, and now he has made an appearance on one of the most unexpected stages of his career. Alina Luz Axelrad, representing Argentina at the Miss World 2026 pageant, captured everyone's attention during the final held in Nha Trang, Vietnam, by wearing an extraordinary gown dedicated to the Argentine football icon.

The upper portion of the dress was designed to resemble the sky-blue and white striped jersey of the Argentina national team. Meanwhile, the large skirt featured printed photographs of Messi from various stages of his life and career. These included images of him as a child playing for Newell's Old Boys, his legendary years at Barcelona, and his historic moments with the Albiceleste, including the iconic photo of him lifting the World Cup trophy in Qatar in 2022.

A Tribute to Football Icons

The mastermind behind this unique creation is Argentine designer Aurelio Martinez. Before the competition, Martinez expressed his excitement:

"What a thrill to see this dress, which I made for you with so much love, come to life. Thank you for trusting me and allowing me to be part of this special moment."

Perhaps Messi brought a bit of luck to the stage. The 27-year-old Axelrad, a native of Córdoba, advanced to the Top 20 of the competition and was ranked among the top five representatives from the Americas and the Caribbean region. Although she did not reach the final stage, where Johayri Mola of the Dominican Republic was crowned, her fashion statement made global headlines.

This is not the first time Axelrad has merged Argentine football with beauty pageants. During her previous participation in Miss Universe, she walked the stage in an outfit dedicated to Diego Maradona, complete with the late star's face and a football. With Messi now featured on her gown, she has successfully paid tribute to Argentina's two greatest football legends.
