Israeli cinema celebrates a historic milestone with the premiere of "Matchmaking 3", marking the country's first movie trilogy in 35 years and featuring Hollywood star Michael Rapaport.
Historic milestone for Israeli cinema: Moshe Edri and Yaki Reisner hosted the festive premiere of "Matchmaking 3" ("Bachurim Tovim 3"). With its theatrical release, the film completes an exceptional achievement, becoming the first Israeli cinema trilogy in 35 years since the days of "Abba Ganuv".
The red carpet welcomed the film's stars, including Maor Schwitzer, Niv Sultan, Irit Kaplan, Yadin Gellman, Moshe Ashkenazi, Naya Bienstock, and Yon Katz. The current project also features prominent Hollywood reinforcement Michael Rapaport ("Friends", "Prison Break"), who in recent years has become one of the most vocal international voices supporting Israel.
Directed by Erez Tadmor, the third installment expands the plot beyond borders, taking the heroes all the way to New York. In an interview with the "Srugim" website, Tadmor highlighted the evolution and core message of the trilogy: "The first film dealt with gaps in Haredi society between Ashkenazim and Sephardim, the second dealt with special needs children in the family and their impact on matchmaking, and this time the subject is money."
Tadmor summarized the essence of the work: "What a romantic comedy can touch upon more than any heavyweight drama: not to teach us that love conquers money, but to remind us how it feels, for just a single moment, to choose it anyway."
