Riyad Mahrez has found himself at the center of an awkward incident after an innocent-seeming phone call with Dele Alli was broadcast live to thousands of viewers. The former Manchester City and Leicester star, currently staying in Dubai, apparently did not realize he was speaking with his friend during a live stream on Alli's Twitch channel, dropping a casual remark about the city's women that may not sit well with his wife, model and influencer Taylor Ward.

Alli, 30, who recently runs a Twitch channel with more than 130,000 followers, called Mahrez during a broadcast where he chatted with friends from the football world. "I'm in London, streaming. Just called people, they can hear you, they're hearing you live, bro," Alli explained. However, due to connection issues, it appeared Mahrez did not hear the clarification. "I'm in Dubai, bro. There are crazy girls here, bro, seriously," the 35-year-old Algerian replied.

The Immediate Reaction and Media Buzz

Alli's reaction was swift. The former Tottenham footballer quickly pushed his chair away from the microphone, briefly disappeared from the camera, and returned to the stream. The English media pointed to his reaction as someone who fully understood that his friend had blurted out a problematic statement without knowing thousands of people were listening.

Mahrez has been married since 2023 to Ward, a British model and influencer with around three million followers on social media. The couple has two children together, and the footballer has two more children from his previous marriage to model Rita Johal, whom he separated from in early 2020. Ward is also one of the founders of the jewelry brand Astalia, and her relationship with Mahrez gained widespread exposure in the Amazon docuseries "Married to the Game".

Past Headlines and Future Uncertainty

This is not the first time the couple's personal life has made headlines. In one memorable scene from the series, Mahrez unexpectedly informed Ward that they were about to leave Manchester and move to Saudi Arabia following his transfer to Al-Ahli.

"This is part of the game, isn't it?" Mahrez reportedly told her when she expressed concerns about being left alone at home.

Meanwhile, no public response from Ward has been published regarding her husband's latest remark, and there is no indication that the incident caused a crisis in the relationship. However, the British media are already wondering how the model will react when she hears the remarks made during the broadcast.
