Rapper Macklemore Promotes Anti-Israel Slogans at New Jersey Concert

American rapper Macklemore, known for his anti-Israel activism, once again utilized a major concert stage to voice his political views. During his performance as the opening act for Ed Sheeran in New Jersey, the artist integrated pro-Palestinian chants and encouraged the crowd to join him while displaying footage from Gaza on the screens.

The visual backdrop included slogans, among which was a statement claiming that Holocaust survivors call for an end to genocide.

Addressing the crowd, Macklemore said:

"I want the people in Gaza and the West Bank to know that they are not forgotten. Every single human on this earth deserves the same freedom—to know the sounds of safety and peace before they know the sounds of violence, the sound of laughter before planes and bombs."

Later in the set, Macklemore performed his anti-Israel song Hind's Hall, named after Hind Rajab, a six-year-old Gazan girl who died during the conflict, and whose name was used by student protesters at Columbia University to unofficially rename an campus hall. The song is a sharp critique of Israel and the war in Gaza, supporting the campus demonstrations. The rapper previously announced that all proceeds from the track would be donated to UNRWA.

This is not the first time Macklemore has publicly condemned Israel. In November 2023, just weeks after the October 7 massacre, he spoke at a pro-Palestinian rally in Washington, D.C., where he labeled Israel's military campaign in Gaza a genocide, claiming he was told to remain silent but refused to do so.
