The IDF eliminated two commanders of Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) on Thursday in the Gaza Strip, including a terrorist who participated in the October 7 massacre, the IDF Spokesperson announced on Friday.

In a strike in the Shati area, Ibrahim Nabil Ibrahim Bass, a commander in the military wing of Hamas, was eliminated; according to the IDF, he raided Israeli territory during the October 7 massacre.

In another strike, in the Sabra area, Hamdi Ahmad Hamad Kahil, who served as a commander of an observation platoon in the PIJ, was eliminated. According to the IDF, the two promoted terrorist plots against IDF forces and Israeli citizens throughout the war and in the recent period, and attempted to restore the capabilities of the terrorist organizations while systematically violating the ceasefire. The IDF noted that the strikes were carried out with the aim of removing the threat, and that Southern Command forces are deployed in the area in accordance with the agreement and will continue to act against immediate threats.

These liquidations join a series of strikes carried out by the IDF in the recent period against commanders and operatives in Hamas and the PIJ, including terrorists who participated in the October 7 massacre and attempted to restore the capabilities of the terrorist organizations in the Strip.

It was previously reported that the IDF and the Shin Bet eliminated two Hamas operatives who participated in the October 7 massacre earlier this week in the Khan Yunis area in the southern Gaza Strip. One of the dead, Razek Sahil Suleiman Abu Shahma, previously served as a bodyguard for Yahya Sinwar.

The first strike took place on Sunday, during which Hazem Musa, an operative of the Nukhba force of the military wing of Hamas, was killed. A day later, on Monday, the forces attacked another target in the area and eliminated Abu Shahma. Both of the dead were among the terrorists who infiltrated the Re'im camp at the outbreak of the war.

On August 18, the IDF eliminated in Khan Yunis Tariq Anwar Khamis Ra'i, a company commander in the PIJ who raided Kibbutz Be'eri on October 7. According to the IDF, Ra'i continued to promote terrorist plots against Israelis during the war. The same report also mentioned another liquidation of a senior Hamas official who participated in the raid on Israel.

At the end of July, the IDF eliminated Hammam Eid, commander of the Hamas UAV unit in the central camps. Eid was responsible for the production of aircraft intended to harm IDF forces and Israeli citizens, and in the period leading up to his liquidation, he worked to restore the Hamas aerial array. At the same time, a senior official in the organization's internal security apparatus was eliminated in Deir al-Balah.
