Israeli satirist and TV host Lior Schleien revealed that he recently turned down an offer to join Channel 14's hit panel show The Patriots. Schleien made the revelation during an appearance on comedian Ben Ben Bruch's popular podcast.

When asked about his thoughts on the contentious broadcast, Schleien didn't mince words about behind-the-scenes developments. "You want a scoop? I was offered to participate in The Patriots and I refused," Schleien told the host, sharply criticizing the program's editorial line by stating, "It's not journalism, it's not media, and it's not the truth."

During the interview, Schleien also touched upon his past professional relationship with The Patriots anchor Yinon Magal. He recalled that the two crossed paths professionally when Magal appeared as a guest on his satirical shows, and noted that he used to write columns for the Walla news portal back when Magal served as its CEO.

Concluding with a nostalgic anecdote from their working days, Schleien shared that when Magal anchored the main evening news edition on television, he used to text him joke suggestions intended for his satirical broadcast. However, Schleien admitted that none of the gags sent by Magal ever actually made it to the final broadcast.
