Lior Raz, creator and actor of the series "Fauda", is once again sparking conversation about the future of the show. During a recent interview, Raz addressed the sense of emptiness felt by viewers following the conclusion of the fifth season, responding with humor to fans frustrated by the lack of new episodes on Monday nights: "Oh, really? The series is on Netflix, watch it again. There are many good series in the country."
The fifth season of "Fauda" resonated deeply with its audience. Raz commented on the intensity of the final episodes and the viewers' connection to the plot:
"It was a very tough, very strong season that punched us all—not in the stomach, but in the heart. We brought up all the things we were afraid to talk about for a long time."
One of the most shocking moments of the season was the death of Eli, a central character who had been with the series from the beginning. When asked about the audience's reaction to this decision, he admitted:
"True, I also don't forgive myself for killing Eli. But we killed so many along the way... Eli is truly the number one actor in Israel. When the whole team watched the episode where he dies, we sat at my house and we all cried. It was impossible not to."
Despite the feeling that the end of the fifth season provided a sense of closure, the question of whether the drama will continue remains. When pressed for an answer regarding a sixth season, Raz remained cautious but optimistic: "God willing. In the State of Israel... God willing. I really hope so."
