Lionel Richie remains in the intensive care unit as doctors currently evaluate him for a potential heart condition, according to a report by TMZ on Tuesday. The 77-year-old singer is undergoing cardiac testing after checking himself into a local hospital in St. Louis, Missouri, over the weekend, following a difficult performance at the Muny amphitheater on Saturday.

While initial reports suggested doctors were checking for mild dehydration, the focus has since shifted to potential heart-related issues. Fans at the concert noted that the singer appeared to struggle with movement toward the end of the show. According to attendees, he requested a chair from his crew during his final song, "All Night Long," so that he could sit down.

This incident follows a similar health scare last June, when Richie worried fans by abruptly stopping the opening night of his North American tour in Minnesota. During that performance at the Grand Casino Arena, part of a joint tour with Earth, Wind & Fire, the 77-year-old struggled to perform "Dancing on the Ceiling" and had to sit down on stage multiple times. Following that episode, the star canceled two subsequent shows on medical advice.
