The Likud party, through its legal counsel, has issued a formal warning letter to media figure and influencer Dana Zarmon, demanding the removal of politically oriented content from her social media accounts. At the center of the dispute is an interview Zarmon conducted with Gadi Eisenkot, a leading figure of the Yashar! party, which garnered hundreds of thousands of views.

Likud's Demands and Zarmon's Response

According to reports, Likud argues that Zarmon's posts constitute coordinated and funded election propaganda without proper disclosure to the public. The party warned that failure to comply could result in a petition to the Central Elections Committee for an injunction. Zarmon, represented by her attorneys, firmly rejected the claims, characterizing them as an illegitimate attempt at silencing her due to political apprehension ahead of the upcoming elections.

"This is a legitimate civic initiative to expose the public to various political candidates, conducted entirely on a voluntary basis," Zarmon's legal team stated.

The Controversy Surrounding Digital Campaigning

Likud demanded that Zarmon either remove the videos featuring politicians or clearly label them as sponsored content, alongside a commitment to refrain from publishing similar material in the future. In response, Zarmon stated she has no intention of complying, arguing that labeling independent content as sponsored would be misleading. Furthermore, Zarmon invited Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to be interviewed on her platform to address public questions, including issues related to the October 7 security failures.
