Lieberman: "I have formulated a solution to the prime minister question that everyone will agree to"

Yisrael Beiteinu party chairman Avigdor Lieberman revealed that he has formulated a formula to resolve the question of the premiership and coalition formation after the elections, declaring that he expects all leaders of the opposition bloc to agree to it. At the same time, he launched a sharp attack against the small parties intending to run, claiming that voting for them effectively helps Benjamin Netanyahu remain prime minister.

"The day after the elections, I will propose a solution that everyone will accept and be satisfied with. The solution is already ready," Lieberman said in a conversation with "Maariv." According to him, the formula addresses both the identity of the prime minister and the formation of the coalition. He did not disclose details but stated with confidence: "Everyone will accept it."

Until the elections, Lieberman urged opposition leaders to avoid internal struggles and focus on achieving a majority. He argued that preoccupation with "who is first, second, or third," as well as debates over potential coalitions with Arab or Haredi parties, serves Netanyahu and diverts the campaign from the responsibility for October 7 and the government's security and political failures.

"Everyone received offers from everyone"

Lieberman took a particularly harsh line towards small parties. According to him, the parties of Chili Tropper, Gilad Erdan, Yuli Edelstein, and Benny Gantz "one hundred percent will not pass the electoral threshold" but could subtract about three mandates from the opposition bloc. Regarding the "Unity" party of Erdan and Edelstein, he said: "Anyone who votes for Gilad and Yuli is choosing Netanyahu as prime minister."

Lieberman further revealed that he offered Chili Tropper, Gilad Erdan, and Yuli Edelstein realistic spots on the Yisrael Beiteinu list. According to him, they also received offers from other parties in the bloc. "Everyone received offers from everyone, from me and also from other parties in the bloc. I say this responsibly, with full responsibility," he stated.

Lieberman rejected the possibility of technical unions that would allow small frameworks to run as a bloc. "Each of them can integrate into any existing party. No one will accept them as a bloc within the party," he said, defining their decision to run independently as giving up national interests for personal ambitions.

With about 50 lists potentially running, he called on voters to "stop the adventures" and vote for stable parties that can be relied upon not to cross lines after the elections.
