Li Menachem: "The food you dedicated your life to is for the rich only"
The world of culinary content online has long become an integral part of the food industry, but opinions among industry veterans are divided. After a statement by chef Eyal Shani on the subject caused a stir, a content creator criticized his words and came to the defense of her peers.

Chef Eyal Shani found himself at the center of a storm after remarks he made about culinary content creators managed to spark quite a few angry reactions. Among those responding to the words of the 'MasterChef: Dream Team' judge (new episode tonight, after the news, Keshet 12) was Li Menachem, who did not like his attitude toward her colleagues on the platform.
Menachem shared in a story the response she left to the chef's words:
"Eyal, I love your food and your restaurants, but the food you dedicated your life to is food for the rich only. Our country's wonderful content creators come along and make food accessible to every person, so who is more wonderful? Those who understood that food is for everyone and that is how it should be treated, or you, who makes amazing food for the top decile of our country?"
In the same story, she added how she felt from a colleague's perspective: "I am not a food content creator, but those who are here are wonderful. To take your prime time and, out of fear of progress, attack them because they are always the punching bag, is not cool."
Alongside the criticism in the mentioned segment, Shani explained the place from which the content creators operate:
"They take the fundamental works, the inventions we invented, and in one second shorten and empty them of content, put a wrapper on it, and serve it. They serve a need because life has moved to the web, they do wonderful things, but there is no depth and root; without that, it is impossible to continue growing."
