Ambassador Leiter Updates on Son Critically Injured in Terror Attack
Israeli Ambassador to the US Yechiel Leiter provided an update on Sunday regarding his son Neria, who was critically injured in a ramming attack on Route 443.
The Israeli Ambassador to the US, Yechiel Leiter, updated the public on Sunday regarding the condition of his son, Neria, who was critically injured in a ramming attack last week. Writing on X, Leiter expressed gratitude for the prayers and support while noting that his son's life remains hanging by a thread.
Condition and Family Trauma
Staff Sergeant Neria Leiter, a reserve soldier from the West Bank settlement of Havat Yair, was severely injured last Wednesday in a car-ramming attack at the Route 443 checkpoint. The terrorist was neutralized by IDF troops at the scene, and Neria was evacuated to Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem.
In a heartbreaking twist, Neria's sister Sarah—whose husband serves as a battalion commander in the Shaked Battalion—went into labor while visiting her brother in the hospital. She gave birth just 40 meters away from the intensive care unit where Neria is fighting for his life. Another son of the ambassador, Major (res.) Moshe Yedidya Leiter, was killed in action in Gaza at the beginning of the war.
The Call for Prayer
"My family and I thank everyone praying for us. Neria's life is still hanging by a thread, but we have seen some encouraging signs and we hold onto them with hope," Ambassador Leiter wrote.
Leiter asked the public to continue praying not only for his son but for all soldiers and terror victims, emphasizing the ongoing struggle for the future of civilization against those who sow destruction.
