Ambassador Leiter: Son Injured in Ramming Attack Begins Breathing Independently
Israel's Ambassador to the US, Yechiel Leiter, reported that his reserve soldier son Neria is breathing independently after a severe car-ramming terror attack.

Israel's Ambassador to the United States, Yechiel Leiter, provided an encouraging update on Wednesday regarding the condition of his son, reserve soldier Neria Leiter, who was critically injured in a car-ramming terror attack at a checkpoint on Route 443.
Ambassador Leiter stated that recent days have shown some progress, and his son has begun breathing independently. However, his condition remains critical, as he suffers from complex head injuries and has not yet regained full consciousness.
Neria was severely wounded when a Palestinian terrorist ran him down near the checkpoint. He was evacuated in critical condition to Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem, where he underwent hours of complex brain surgery. The Leiter family previously lost their eldest son, Maj. Moshe Yedidya Leiter, who fell in combat in the Gaza Strip in November 2023.
