Arsenal is the leading candidate to win the Premier League championship in the 2026/27 season, according to a forecast by the Opta supercomputer, which performed 10,000 data-based simulations ahead of the new season.

The Gunners, who won their first championship in 22 years last season, were given a 38% chance to lift the trophy again in May. Mikel Arteta will try to become only the fourth manager in Premier League history to lead his team to two consecutive championships, after Sir Alex Ferguson, Jose Mourinho, and Pep Guardiola.

Manchester City is ranked second in the forecast with a 20.5% chance of winning, despite the departure of Guardiola and changes to the squad. Enzo Maresca's team signed Elliot Anderson in the summer for 116 million pounds, but may also lose Rodri, in addition to Bernardo Silva.

Liverpool is in third place with a 9.2% chance of winning, followed by Manchester United with 6.2%. Aston Villa was given a 4.8% chance, Chelsea 4.1%, and Tottenham 2.9%.

And what about Crystal Palace, the next team of Anan Khalaili? The supercomputer predicted it will finish in 15th place, alongside a 12% chance to finish in the top 5 and a 20% chance to be relegated to the second division. The three newly promoted teams are seen as the main candidates for relegation. Hull City, which promoted via the playoffs, received the highest chance to drop back to the Championship with 38.7%. Following them are Ipswich with 31.2% and Coventry with 27.9%.
