The secret kept for a decade: Matti Caspi's unknown work is revealed

Not just songs and melodies: Matti Caspi left behind stories written over the years, and they are now expected to become a series of children's books. Behind the project are Hanoch Saar, publisher of "Saar" publishing house, and Raquel Caspi, who operates within the framework of "Matti Caspi Heritage."

This story began about ten years ago. At that time, Caspi agreed with Saar to publish a book and even presented one of the stories to the audience at a festival the publisher held at "Beit Zioni America" in Tel Aviv. However, the process did not mature, and the project was shelved. Years passed, and recently the connection between Saar and the Caspi family was renewed. From these conversations, the old idea was reborn, this time in a broader format: a series that will allow for the publication of several stories and bring them to a generation that did not grow up on Caspi's musical work.

The first volume is expected to collect three of Caspi's stories, with his daughter, Soyan Caspi, responsible for the illustrations. The combination of the father's texts and the daughter's illustrations gives the project a family touch, not just a literary one.

Since the 70s, Caspi has been a central figure in Israeli music, with songs, melodies, and arrangements that have become part of the local classics. Alongside the success, he was also known for his artistic curiosity and ability to move between different styles and media. Now, those texts that waited for years in a drawer are expected to receive a new life on bookshelves.
