The post that sparked a storm: "The reactions were harsh and cruel"
At the beginning of the year, former children's channel star Liat Ahiron published a candid post about her financial situation, in which she wrote, "I need money to live." In an interview, Sheki Ahiron, Liat's mother, said that some of the reactions that followed were harsh: "They did not understand her intention."
In January 2026, former children's channel star Liat Ahiron shared a post in which she revealed her financial situation.
"I need money to live. And I need money to make money from my art. I was once 'someone' with 'power' (apparently) and money, and now that I am more real and closer to myself than ever, I have no way to make it accessible," Ahiron wrote at the time.
In the post, she claimed that in difficult moments she blamed herself for failure and that she is full of despair while others are full of hope.
"I know there is a reason, still hidden from my eyes, for all this difficulty, and I am simply praying. Any advice, like 'do a Headstart', 'hire a marketer', 'get social media consulting' — I fall into a bag of advice that I have nothing to do with because I have crazy attention deficit, hard and Sisyphean work to feed children, and financial austerity," she added.
This morning (Tuesday), Ahiron's mother, Sheki, was interviewed on the morning show of Keshet 12, where she shared that the reactions her daughter received to the post were complex.
"It was not simple. Some of the readers did not understand the intention; she shared it for the sake of collaborations. There were harsh and cruel reactions. Of course, it was hard for me to read and hear that. But there were also very supportive reactions," she said.
Sheki Ahiron also said that she and her daughter are good friends and that she is a big fan of Liat.
"We are very similar, even in appearance; it's like looking in a mirror. I follow every performance and thing she does. I am among the first to show up to see her, and I am very proud of her."
