Ben Gvir's plan for the day after the transfer of powers in Judea and Samaria to the police

We reveal this evening (Monday) the plan of Minister of National Security Itamar Ben Gvir for the day after the transfer of enforcement powers, the Judea and Samaria Border Police, and the authority to issue administrative orders to the Israel Police. The plan includes a series of measures against anarchists operating in the southern Hebron Hills, alongside the expansion of Border Police operational activity in the area.

According to the plan, upon the transfer of powers, the police will act to issue 20 administrative orders against anarchists operating in the southern Hebron Hills. Among those expected to receive orders are Guy Hirschfeld and Yonatan Pollak, known for their activities against the settlement movement.

On the operational level, Ben Gvir plans to return Judea and Samaria Border Police fighters to activity inside Arab cities and renew proactive activity in the field. Among other things, the plan includes searches in homes in Hebron to be carried out by Judea and Samaria Border Police fighters.

Another step in the plan is the relocation of Judea and Samaria Border Police bases into areas A and B, with the aim of increasing control over the territory and improving the operational response capability of the forces. At the same time, the plan includes allowing entry with weapons into the Cave of the Patriarchs.

Also planned are joint training exercises for Judea and Samaria Border Police fighters with the standby squads in the communities of Judea and Samaria. The training will focus on infiltration scenarios and preparation for the possibility of mass infiltration, with the goal of preventing a recurrence of the events of October 7.

The plan is conditional on the completion of the transfer of responsibility for the Judea and Samaria Border Police from the IDF to the Israel Police, as well as the transfer of powers for arrests and administrative restrictions from the Minister of Defense and the IDF to the Minister of National Security and the Israel Police.

As mentioned, Ben Gvir announced earlier today that he has accepted the call of Minister of Defense Israel Katz to transfer civil enforcement powers in Judea and Samaria from the IDF to the police. He defined the move as a "significant step on the way to Israeli sovereignty in Judea and Samaria," but set the transfer of the Judea and Samaria Border Police and administrative powers as a condition for its practical implementation.
