Maccabi Haifa satisfied with the proceeds from the Anan Khalaili deal
The Greens will pocket 2.55 million euros, excluding additional solidarity fees. Earlier this summer, the club also sold Lias Essat for 2.2 million euros.
Anan Khalaili has signed with Crystal Palace, becoming the most expensive Israeli player in history, as the English side paid 24.5 million euros to the Belgian club Union Saint-Gilloise. Another party highly satisfied with the transfer fee is Maccabi Haifa, which will add 2.55 million euros to its coffers—a sum that will further increase due to solidarity fees to which Haifa is also entitled.
According to the agreement between the Greens and the Belgian club, Haifa is entitled to 15% of any future sale profit, minus the 7.5 million euros the Belgians originally paid for Khalaili. With the player now sold for approximately 24.5 million euros, the Greens are entitled to 15% of the 17 million euro profit.
This amount follows the sale of Lias Essat earlier this season, where the Greens received 2.2 million euros while retaining a 15% sell-on clause, as well as a 200,000 euro bonus should Bristol City qualify for the Premier League.
