KKL-JNF to Grant Tender Preference to Businesses from Gaza Envelope and Northern Front

The KKL-JNF Board of Directors has approved granting preference to businesses from the Western Negev and the northern confrontation line settlements in all of the organization's tenders. Suppliers with at least 60% of their operations in the eligible areas will enjoy a 15% preference in the price component. The decision will be in effect for three years and will apply to contracts worth hundreds of millions of shekels annually.

According to the decision, suppliers whose primary business activity takes place in the eligible areas will receive a 15% preference in the price component for three years. The preference will apply to all KKL-JNF tenders and contracts nationwide, which annually include the procurement of services, execution of works, and purchasing in the amount of hundreds of millions of shekels.

KKL-JNF Chairman Eyal Ostrinsky stated that the move is intended to strengthen economic activity in the affected areas. According to him:

"Businesses in the Western Negev and the Gaza envelope settlements have been dealing for a long time with damage to their operations, a decline in income, and uncertainty. The decision is not a grant or compensation, but the creation of a practical advantage that will allow them to compete for work and increase business activity."

He further added that through KKL-JNF's purchasing power, the organization seeks to direct more contracts to the affected areas and assist in strengthening the local economy and employment.

"This is a value-based statement with practical significance and, above all, an expression of our deep commitment to the rehabilitation of the Western Negev and the Gaza envelope settlements and their growth, which cannot happen without a thriving business community," he said.
