National Insurance Institute to transfer child allowances in three days
In three days, child allowances will be transferred to the bank accounts of eligible parents to help cover upbringing expenses. These are the full conditions for receiving the money and how to immediately increase the children's savings.

The National Insurance Institute, the government agency that helps residents of the country avoid financial distress, announces that in three days, on August 20, child allowances will be distributed to those eligible.
Child allowance is a monthly payment provided by the institute to families in Israel for children up to age 18. The purpose of the allowance is to assist families in covering the expenses involved in raising children, and it is paid regardless of the family's income level.
As of January 1, 2026, the amount is determined according to the child's position in the family:
-
First child: 173 NIS
-
Second child: 219 NIS
-
Third child: 219 NIS
-
Fourth child: 219 NIS
-
Fifth child and onwards: 173 NIS
Parents eligible for the allowance:
-
A parent who is a resident of Israel.
-
Someone who has custody of a child who is not their own and holds a guardianship appointment order. If there is no guardianship order, one can be appointed as the recipient of the allowance for the child; for this, one must contact a branch of the National Insurance Institute.
-
Someone who is not a resident of Israel but lives in Israel with one or more children, provided that they have been working in Israel as an employee or self-employed for at least 6 months, and has a permit for stay and work in the country.
A child who immigrated to Israel without their parents can receive the child allowance for themselves. In addition, the National Insurance Institute deposits 58 NIS each month for every child as part of the "Savings for Every Child" program. Parents can choose to add another 58 NIS from the child allowance, so that the monthly savings will amount to 116 NIS. In most cases, the allowance is paid automatically and usually enters the account on the 20th of each month.
