The political storm surrounding Channel 14 host Yinon Magal's remarks about contributors to the critical book "Mr. Abandonment", which targeted Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, has intensified. Opposition leader Yair Lapid issued a scathing response, defending hostage families and bereaved relatives while launching a personal attack against the broadcaster.

Lapid's Scathing Condemnation

Lapid did not mince words in his online statement, writing sharply against the media figure and offering full support to prominent public figures and relatives affected by the comments, including Ofri Bibas, Yarden Bibas, Tami Arad, and Einav Zangauker.

"For Yinon Magal's sins, nothing can atone anymore. He is a hater of Israel and a traitor from within," Lapid wrote, adding robust support for families fighting for justice.

Political Repercussions

Concluding his remarks, Lapid tied the controversy to the broader political climate, promising that the public would deliver a definitive response at the ballot box to dismiss the current administration.

The altercation follows a turbulent monologue by Magal on 103FM radio, during which he recited dozens of names associated with the critical publication against Netanyahu, labeling them harshly and accusing them of blood libel.
