New city "Shira" and three other settlements regularized

A significant development for the settlement movement in Judea and Samaria. As part of the "settlement revolution" led by Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, the Ministry of Interior granted official settlement codes to four additional communities today, Thursday. This achievement marks the conclusion of a years-long process and joins the 39 codes issued recently, establishing their status as full-fledged settlements in the State of Israel.

The new city of Shira (East Rosh HaAyin) in the Samaria Regional Council, declared a new settlement by the Security Cabinet in December 2025, now officially appears on the map. The city is set to be built east of Rosh HaAyin, adjacent to Highway 5, and will span approximately 9,500 dunams, including tens of thousands of housing units.

Alongside it in Samaria, the regularization of the Har Bezek settlement was completed, following a cabinet decision in December 2025. The settlement is situated on a high strategic point and is part of a chain of new settlements providing a strategic response in the Har Bezek – Goder – Tamon sequence.

In Gush Etzion, there was a double celebration: the Pnei Kedem settlement, established 26 years ago, has reached the end of its regularization process with the assignment of a settlement code. This move will allow the community to develop and grow as an independent settlement.

In addition, the new settlement of Keren Yaar (Yaar El Keren) in Gush Etzion, also declared by the cabinet in December 2025, has been finally regularized. Keren Yaar is located at a strategic point above Highway 60 and constitutes a significant link in creating settlement continuity between Gush Etzion and Kiryat Arba.

The granting of these settlement codes constitutes a critical milestone in establishing the settlement movement led by Bezalel Smotrich, which will facilitate infrastructure development, extensive construction, and a significant strengthening of the hold on the land.
