AstraZeneca Israel is parting ways after eight years with CEO Ohad Goldberg, who has been appointed CEO of AstraZeneca in South Korea. The company is appointing a new CEO: Maria Miller, who holds approximately 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry in Israel and Europe.
In her last role, Miller served as Director of Access to Medicines in Europe at AbbVie, and previously held senior management positions at Pfizer, Takeda, and Sanofi. The company states that Miller has deep familiarity with the healthcare system in Israel, alongside broad international experience in commercial management and leading teams at the local and regional levels. She currently resides in the Netherlands, and in the coming weeks, she is expected to return to Israel with her family.
"AstraZeneca stands at the forefront of global medical innovation, and I am proud to lead its operations in Israel. We will continue to shape the future of medicine in Israel, and promote research, innovation, and collaborations that will help accelerate the way breakthrough treatments reach patients," said Miller.
AstraZeneca is an international pharmaceutical company, leading the research, development, and accessibility of innovative prescription drugs. The company focuses mainly on the fields of oncology, cardiovascular, renal and metabolism, and respiratory and immunology diseases. It operates in more than 100 countries. Last week, there was talk of a possible giant merger with the company Bristol Myers, a deal that could create a company with a market capitalization of 400 billion dollars.
The Israeli branch has been operating since 2008, and its offices are located in Kfar Saba. The company employs about 200 workers in Israel and maintains extensive collaborations here with hospitals, academic institutions, and research entities.
2. The new AI campaign of Burger Ranch
In recent years, several campaigns have appeared in Israel that were made using artificial intelligence, although it is still a trickle. Now, the new AI campaign of the Burger Ranch chain joins them, through the advertising agency WE and the creative studio The Dor Brothers. The humorous campaign — which centers on the "Family Combination," one of the dishes identified with the chain — is airing on television and digital with an investment of 3 million shekels, including gold commercials in the programs "The Voice" and "Dancing with the Stars."
"We chose to focus the campaign on a value proposition for families against the backdrop of the ongoing discourse regarding the cost of living and the rise in expenses during the summer vacation period. At the same time, as an Israeli brand that continues to innovate, we wanted to take the language identified with us into a new world of creation using AI," said Moshe Efraim, VP of Marketing at Burger Ranch.
