Will China enter a direct war with the USA? "I would be worried to be an American today"
Dr. Kobi Barda, a historian of American politics, criticized the US president's conduct regarding Iran during an interview on 103FM. He also provided a perspective on the American situation vis-à-vis China.
Dr. Kobi Barda, a historian of American politics, was interviewed this morning (Friday) on 103FM and addressed the current concern of the United States.
"If I were an American today, I would be very worried if tomorrow morning China decided to enter the fray," he noted. He further added: "It is possible that there is currently a weakness in the United States."
Regarding the lack of stockpiles in the US military, he said: "It is possible, it was done in previous wars, so a large part of production was harnessed for the war effort. At least four years, according to American media, is the time required to prepare the stockpiles of Tomahawk missiles and all defensive missiles. In principle, the feeling is that there is indeed some distress in the stockpiles, especially in light of the war which is super-intensive in the Ukrainian arena, and this gives a rather bleak picture of what is supposed to happen later in the campaign at this time."
He also provided a surprising angle regarding Germany: "An interesting story in Germany reflects the challenge with China, where the Volkswagen company is dealing with Chinese vehicles flooding its market. The company wanted to convert some of its production lines to produce heavy trucks designed to carry missiles, but the move was blocked because Qatar holds enough shares in the company, and it blocks the merger with Israeli technology companies. The question arises as to what is the meaning of dependence on an Arab country like Qatar that decides what the factories will produce and what not, while the market is flooded with Chinese products."
Barda chose to strongly criticize the current American approach towards Iran:
"It seems there is a desire at any cost to try to get through the coming period, at least until after the mid-term elections. In this context, there is no other way to say it than 'embarrassing' - Iran demands to negotiate the division of the spoils of highway robbery in the Strait of Hormuz with Oman only, without a third party, and the Americans are willing to swallow it."
