The 'settler violence' campaign is chapter two of the Gaza starvation lie

Over the past day, Israeli and international media have been flooded with screaming headlines about a "siege" that settlers are allegedly imposing on the village of Qusra. These images, which resonate rapidly around the world and create a display of defamation against the State of Israel, are part of a well-oiled marketing machine.

The Israeli and global Left have become world champions in branding; under the guise of "woke culture," they succeed time and again in turning the persecutors into the persecuted and the cruel into the miserable. We saw this in the "starvation in Gaza" narrative, and now we are seeing the exact same model operating in Judea and Samaria.

To understand what is really happening on the ground, one must look at the strategic process the region has undergone. After 30 years of a culture of defense and containment, a legacy of the Oslo Accords where Jews were confined within settlement fences and behind concrete barriers on roads, a turnaround has occurred.

The fundamental change is the shifting of the "contact line." In the past, friction occurred at the gates of Jewish settlements, at bus stops, or on the shoulders of main roads. There, rioters and terrorists felt free to roam, attack, and instill terror. Today, the reality is different: the friction line has moved from the shoulders of our roads to the borders of Arab villages.

The central tool in this change is the establishment of dozens of "lone farms" in open areas, in the style of the Havat Shikmim farm that Ariel Sharon established in the Negev in the 90s. These farms demonstrate a Jewish presence on the ground and effectively create a security strip or a "yellow line" that keeps the danger away from citizens in the veteran settlements. Similar to the operational model in Gaza, Lebanon, and Syria, a security space has also been created in Judea and Samaria that prevents the enemy from reaching the first line of houses.

It is important to remember who we are dealing with: most of the Arabs of Judea and Samaria are Hamas supporters. These are the same people who cheered during the murderous massacre on October 7, and if they were only given the opportunity to repeat the horrors of Be'eri in the settlements of the mountain ridge or in Bat Hefer — they would not hesitate for a moment.

So why does the world see a "siege"? Because the images distributed in the global media are the 2026 model of the Gaza starvation lie. It is a movie that we are always shown from the middle, focusing only on the scene chosen by the progressive director. The camera will never show the first act: the rioters from the villages who go out to provoke the shepherds, the attempts to damage the farms, and the daily threats to the lives of Jews in the area.
