KFC Israel Faces New Uncertainty and Potential Operational Cutbacks
KFC's future in Israel is under scrutiny amid reports of potential operational cutbacks, though the company insists its existing branches continue to operate normally.

The future of the KFC franchise in Israel is facing new uncertainty amid reports of ongoing operational difficulties. According to Walla Food, several options regarding the chain's future are currently being evaluated, including a potential further reduction in operations. However, KFC has not announced any decision to shut down its local presence, and existing branches continue to operate as usual.
These developments come about a year and a half after one of the chain's franchisees in Israel closed 8 branches nationwide. The closures included locations in Zichron Yaakov, Zemach Beach, Nof Hagalil, Beersheba, Ramla, Kfar Saba, and Yarka. Following that crisis, operations were transferred to another franchisee in a move aimed at improving performance.
According to an industry source close to the chain, KFC is experiencing difficulties and reviewing multiple scenarios. Meanwhile, a company employee noted that the brand is dealing with the broader challenges facing the restaurant sector since October 7, emphasizing that branches remain open and that the previous franchisee is no longer involved.
KFC returned to Israel in 2020 under a new franchise agreement after previous attempts in the 1980s and 1990s. The marketing department of KFC Israel stated that there is currently no official comment and that all branches are operating as usual.
