Karmiel Steps Up Emergency Preparedness Amid Security Tensions
Karmiel Municipality has stepped up emergency readiness and inspected public shelters amid security tensions, while stressing that Home Front Command guidelines remain unchanged.
The Karmiel Municipality announced on Tuesday that it is stepping up its emergency preparedness amid regional security tensions and reports of potential escalation. Mayor Moshé Koninsky instructed the municipal security officer and emergency teams to increase readiness and inspect public shelters to ensure the city is prepared for any security developments.
In an official statement released to residents, the municipality emphasized that despite the heightened precautions, there are no changes to the Home Front Command guidelines. The municipal hotline, 106, remains operational 24 hours a day to assist residents with any concerns.
This is not the first time Karmiel has taken proactive security measures. Last July, the municipality opened public shelters as a preventive step without a specific threat, urging residents to maintain their routine. Authorities now recommend that residents check home protected spaces and review emergency supply lists.
