The relationship between Judy Nir Mozes and Silvan Shalom came to an end, but her deep respect for her ex-husband remains intact. In an episode of "MKtv VIP" on Keshet 12, she opened up about the reasons behind their separation, reflected on her upbringing, and shared vivid memories of a childhood deeply intertwined with journalism.

Reflections on Marriage and Family

When asked about the end of her marriage, Nir Mozes did not hide her feelings for Shalom, who previously served in senior government roles.

"I love, appreciate, and admire him, but at some point, we became like siblings," she told Ruthie Broudo.

She explained that Shalom's long years in politics heavily influenced their family dynamics. While her mother bore the primary responsibility for raising the children, her father was rarely involved in daily routines. However, Nir Mozes noted that reality has shifted since she moved to New York. Today, Shalom dedicates much more time to the children, hosting them for Friday night dinners and taking care of traditional meals with admirable dedication.

Growing Up in a Media Dynasty

Memories from her childhood also highlighted the complexities of belonging to the Mozes family. Her grandfather, Yehuda, after whom she is named, acquired "Yedioth Ahronoth" shortly after its founding. The newspaper quickly became a central pillar of family life, accompanied by fierce rivalries, particularly against rival daily "Maariv".

Despite her family's substantial assets, Nir Mozes insisted she did not grow up feeling wealthy. Although she spent summers at boarding schools in Switzerland, her family lived a modest life in Ramat Gan as her grandfather gradually sold off real estate holdings to keep the newspaper afloat.
