Armed Citizen Shoots Robbery Suspect in Jerusalem Mistaken for Terrorist
An armed citizen shot a robbery suspect in Jerusalem after mistaking him for a terrorist. The suspect was hospitalized in serious condition as police investigate the incident.

An armed citizen opened fire on a man in the Givat Shaul neighborhood of Jerusalem on Sunday evening, suspecting him to be a terrorist carrying out an attack. However, a preliminary police investigation indicates that the incident is criminal in nature and stems from a botched robbery.
Investigation and Emergency Response
Police forces and medical teams rushed to the scene on Om ve-Olamo Street following reports of gunfire, cordoning off the area to collect evidence and clarify the circumstances of the incident.
The Israel Police Spokesperson's Unit initially reported:
"A short time ago, a report was received at the police regarding a suspected shooting incident in the Givat Shaul neighborhood of Jerusalem."
Later, the police updated that preliminary questioning by Moria station officers revealed suspicions of a robbery attempt during which the suspect was shot by one of the individuals involved.
According to medical officials, the suspect was evacuated to a hospital in serious condition. Police investigators and forensic teams continue to operate at the scene, examining the sequence of events and the circumstances of the shooting.
