The Jerusalem District Court ruled on Tuesday in favor of the prosecution, determining that a transcript presented by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s defense attorney, Amit Hadad, does not accurately reflect a conversation between former police official Eran Kamin and journalist Ben Caspit.

The controversy stems from testimony given about a month and a half ago, when Kamin was called by Netanyahu’s defense team as a witness in the ongoing corruption trials. The defense sought to establish that Caspit had served as an intelligence source for Kamin, with Hadad presenting a transcript purporting to document their exchange. Both Kamin and Caspit subsequently disputed the authenticity of the document, stating the conversation was never recorded.

In response to the ruling, Kamin elaborated on his position, noting that he had informed the defense shortly after his testimony that the date cited did not align with his own records. "Upon reviewing the transcript closely, I found logical flaws that demonstrate I cannot be the speaker in that document," Kamin stated.

Attorney Amit Hadad maintained that the defense remains prepared to re-examine Kamin in court should he wish to modify his testimony, provided that all withheld investigative materials are turned over to the defense.
