"I expected to get more minutes at Beitar Jerusalem, it disappointed me"

Maccabi Netanya striker Dor Hugi went on air yesterday on the 103fm sports program to discuss his decision to leave Beitar Jerusalem for Roni Levy's team.

"It's a good feeling, after the previous season, to return and feel the pitch better," he said. "I scored important goals. I expected to get a few more minutes than I received during most stages of the season, especially in the final month, with ten games in 30 days. You expect there to be some rotation, but it didn't happen—that was a bit disappointing. I could have been more useful to Beitar. I am happy that I signed with Maccabi Netanya and I am going to get more playing time."

Regarding his current season at Netanya, he noted: "The feelings are good; we need a little more reinforcement, but we are fully committed. The goal is to reach the upper playoffs and take the team another step forward. I hope we do it. I don't think the pressure is different here, because in every team you give 100 percent. It is true that there is a larger crowd at Beitar than at smaller clubs. Some are affected by it positively or negatively, but I took it in a good way; every minute I was at Beitar, I gave my all."

On the end of the season at Beitar, he added: "There was fatigue. If there had been more rotation and players coming in at 100 percent, perhaps we could have taken a step forward. I was surprised by what happened with Barak Itzhaki and Almog Cohen."
