Former Nova festival hostage Itai Regev has joined the cast of the upcoming season of the hit reality show "Goalstar". In a powerful promo clip, Regev recounts the harrowing moments of his October 7 abduction and captivity.

The popular Israeli reality show "Goalstar" has long achieved cult status, capturing the hearts of football fans. Over the years, the production team realized that viewers are drawn not only to the competitive journey toward the coveted trophy, but also to the diverse and compelling personalities cast in the series.
In the upcoming season, former hostage Itai Regev, who survived the Nova festival massacre and was released on November 29, 2023, has joined the cast. In a recently released promotional clip from the show, Regev opens up about that fateful day and recounts the harrowing moments of his abduction.
"The moment we turned right, we already saw a pickup truck waiting for vehicles," Regev describes. "I told Maya [his sister, who was also kidnapped and released] to answer Dad because we might not make it out of this, let's say goodbye. Maya answered Dad, and the moment she answered, they started shooting at us."
He recalls the terrorists' gunfire and the terrifying moment he thought it was the end: "I was shot in the leg, and Maya was hit two seconds later and started screaming for Dad. The terrorists swarmed the vehicle, a terrorist opened the door and pulled me out first, and I begged him not to kill me. He laid me on the road, and then one of them decided to stand on top of me, placing the barrel of his gun against my head, pressing it to the pavement. I started singing 'Shir LaMa'alot' [Psalm 121], and after two minutes, he lowered the barrel."
