Real estate and construction stocks in Israel have staged a notable recovery, surging 7% to 8% over the past month despite ongoing security tensions and high interest rates. Market data shows that leading contractors and developers recorded sharp gains, led by companies such as Beit BaKfar, which spiked following a major deal with Aura, alongside Oron Group, Luzon Group, and Danya Cebus, which all rallied by 19% to 20%. Shikun & Binui shares climbed by over 13%.

Among major developers, Y.H. Dimri advanced by more than 12%, while Africa Israel Residences and Ashtrom gained over 10%. Rotstein posted a 9% increase. For large-cap firms like Shikun & Binui, whose market capitalization exceeds 11 billion shekels, a double-digit monthly rally adds well over a billion shekels to its market value, dramatically impacting the sector's financial landscape.

Analysts note that the upward momentum is driven by the market adapting to risk management under wartime conditions. Although construction sites face severe labor shortages and delays, the underlying housing supply crunch continues to intensify. Public demand for fortified apartments equipped with secure spaces remains exceptionally high, while investors anticipate a massive release of pent-up demand once regional stability returns.

At the same time, the market rally exhibits sharp differentiation based on corporate leverage and financial structure. In an environment where interest rates remain elevated, firms burdened with heavy debt, expensive land inventories, or complex merger processes lag behind. Conversely, companies boasting strong liquidity and robust sales lead the indices. Aura climbed over 8% following strong sales figures and new transactions, whereas Israel Canada dropped about 10% over the past year despite a recent monthly correction of over 7%. Real estate investment trusts (REITs), including Azorim Living, Megurit, and Abu Madorim, faced steeper challenges, declining by over 20% amid shifting market conditions.
