Israel Close to Conditions for Regime Change in Iran, Says Netanyahu Adviser
Prime Minister adviser Ophir Falk stated Israel is close to enabling regime change in Iran, while maintaining that Hamas could disarm within an afternoon if it chose to do so.

Israel is very close to creating the conditions that will enable regime change in Iran, said Ophir Falk, foreign policy adviser to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in an interview with the Jerusalem Post. Falk emphasized that the ultimate decision regarding the future of the regime in Tehran rests with the Iranian people. He pointed to US-led economic pressure and military strikes against Iran and its proxies as key factors weakening the regime. Falk noted that the war has severely impacted senior officials, nuclear scientists, missiles, and production capabilities, highlighting operations "Lion's Pride" and "Roaring Lion" as among the most successful military campaigns in recent years.
Turning to the Gaza Strip, Falk stated that Israel will not agree to redeploy its forces before the complete disarmament of Hamas. He asserted that if Hamas wanted to disarm, it could do so within an afternoon. The three main Israeli objectives are the disarmament of Hamas, the demilitarization of the strip, and the de-radicalization of the population, aligning with US President Donald Trump's twenty-point plan. Falk admitted that Israel has struggled in the public diplomacy arena compared to its battlefield successes, noting that the country is fighting on seven fronts while facing challenges in the eighth ideological front. Regarding regional integration, Falk expressed optimism about potential normalization with Saudi Arabia, stating it could happen much faster than expected.
