Netanyahu and Bennett Use Pop Culture and Gaming in Election Campaigns
Ahead of the October 27 Knesset elections, Israeli politicians are using pop culture in campaigns. Naftali Bennett featured a sitcom star, while Benjamin Netanyahu released a GTA-themed AI video.
Israel is gearing up for the 26th Knesset elections scheduled for October 27, 2026, and political campaigns are increasingly turning to pop culture and social media to attract voters. Former Prime Minister Naftali Bennett, who has returned to active politics, released a campaign video featuring Yamit Sol, an actress from the iconic Israeli sitcom "Ha-Pijamot".
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu adopted a different digital strategy by publishing an artificial intelligence-generated video inspired by the upcoming video game "Grand Theft Auto VI". Targeting his political rivals, Netanyahu quipped in the video that opponents like Gadi Eisenkot and Avigdor Lieberman would establish a Palestinian state before GTA 6 is finally released.
