Iranian Media Threatens US and Allies Amid Escalating Tensions

Iranian newspapers on Thursday adopted a combative stance, combining mockery of U.S. President Donald Trump with explicit threats to expand the ongoing regional conflict. Publications highlighted rising energy prices and framed diplomatic efforts as failures.

The hardline newspaper Kayhan featured reports mocking U.S. leadership, claiming that Donald Trump is losing ground like a compulsive gambler. The daily also highlighted statements from military officials regarding a shift in defense doctrine and warned that recent countermeasures pushed oil prices higher.

If they target our infrastructure, the internet cables in the Strait of Hormuz will become a target for attack.

Threats to Internet Cables and Expanded Doctrine

Another prominent daily, Javan, warned that internet infrastructure in the Strait of Hormuz could be targeted if Iran's own installations are hit. Yadollah Javani, a political adviser to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), emphasized that the geographic scope of the military confrontation would widen.

Meanwhile, Vatan-e Emrooz published images of a burning effigy of Donald Trump alongside an American flag, arguing that opposition to a war with Iran has become a central issue in American politics. Fars News Agency also reported that a senior security official warned that political targets and Western infrastructure would be considered legitimate targets in any renewed escalation.
