Ido Malka Releases New Single Following Split From Yuval Raphael
Israeli singer Ido Malka released a new single about his breakup with Yuval Raphael. The emotional track features poignant lyrics dedicated to their past romance.
Ido Malka has released a new single titled "Kokhavim" (Planets), which appears to reflect on his romance with Yuval Raphael following their recent breakup after roughly a year and a half together. Co-written and composed alongside Tal Talisman Ben Nun and Gilad Marko Markovitz, the track delves into a relationship slowly fading away.
"I have been here for a while and yet not really here, and you are sad, it shows in your expressions," Malka sings in the opening lines. The lyrics offer a clear nod to Raphael rather than functioning as a generic breakup anthem, notably featuring the lines: "From my damaged brain you will not leave... You will always be first place and not second, in my Eurovision."
The two alumni of "HaKokhav HaBa LeEurovizyon" announced their separation on their Instagram accounts last August. "Sometimes even when you love very much, you understand that you need to let go. I won't lie to you, it is a tough and not easy thing, so we ask you to give us some time and respect our privacy. Thank you for all your love," Malka wrote at the time.
Raphael shared a similar sentiment with her followers, noting: "This is very painful and sad for both of us. But sometimes you realize you need to let go with love and let each other go your own ways. There is a lot of respect, appreciation, and friendship between us. And that is how it will always remain."
