IDF Military Police Investigate Major Security Affair Linked to Iran
A serious security investigation linked to Iran is underway by the IDF military police amid a dramatic 2026 surge in military security probes, focusing largely on espionage and smuggling.

A serious security investigation, reportedly linked to Iran, is currently underway by the Military Police Criminal Investigation Division (MPCID) and Israel's defense establishment, it was revealed. Throughout 2026, a dramatic surge has been recorded in the number of investigations into military security incidents conducted by the military police.
Most details of the ongoing classified probe remain barred from publication under gag orders, but authorities confirmed that a significant development occurred recently pointing directly to Iranian involvement. Investigators are working around the clock, focusing heavily on espionage and smuggling operations.
The upward trend in military police security investigations began several years ago, culminating in record figures for 2026. While 2022 saw 10 reported military incidents, the numbers rose to 18 in 2023, 16 in 2024, and nearly doubled to 31 in 2025.
Data shows that by July 2026, the military police had already investigated 31 security incidents within the ranks, matching the total for the entire previous year. If current trends persist, the annual total is projected to exceed 60 investigations by the end of the year.
