Ayalon Highways Chairman Idan David Dismissed Over Forgery Allegations

The appointments committee, headed by Judge Shulamit Dotan, has decided to dismiss Idan David from his position as chairman of Ayalon Highways, following an investigative report by journalist Yossi Mizrahi on Channel 12 news.

According to the committee's decision, David vastly overstated his professional experience and the scale of companies he managed. While claiming his firm managed revenues of approximately 800 million shekels, actual figures stood at roughly 17 million shekels. Furthermore, reference letters and accountant approvals submitted during his appointment process were challenged, with the accountant confirming that a letter presented in his name was a complete forgery.

Committee Findings and Dismissal

Idan David submitted a brief response rejecting the allegations without substantive detail, claiming his years of professional experience speak for themselves and suggesting the inquiry was politically motivated. The committee rejected this stance, stating that the factual basis for his appointment was severely compromised by false information.

"The necessary conclusion is that the appointment decision was based on a factual fabric with a high probability of falsehood, effectively collapsing the infrastructure of the appointment," Judge Shulamit Dotan wrote.

Police Investigation and Political Context

Following the Channel 12 expose, the Government Companies Authority demanded clarifications and subsequently turned the findings over to the police, who launched a formal criminal investigation into suspected resume padding and document forgery.

David assumed office last July as the candidate of Minister David Amsalem, who oversees government companies. Prior to this role, David served as the CEO of the Ashkelon municipality under mayor Tomer Glam for three years before resigning ahead of the municipal elections.
