US Ambassador Mike Huckabee Receives Abraham Torch Award in Jerusalem
US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee received the Abraham Torch award from the Museum of Tolerance Jerusalem during the Freedom 250 event marking 250 years of American independence for his enduring support.
United States Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee received the "Abraham Torch" award from the Museum of Tolerance Jerusalem during the Freedom 250 event hosted by the U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem to mark the 250th anniversary of American independence.
The award was presented to Ambassador Huckabee in recognition of his longstanding support for Israel and the Jewish people, his contribution to strengthening relations between the United States and Israel, and his recent activities, including during the conflict with Iran.
The honor was presented by Larry A. Mizel, chairman and co-founder of the Museum of Tolerance Jerusalem. Mizel stated that throughout his public career, Huckabee has maintained a consistent line of support for Israel.
"Throughout his extensive public career and his many visits to Israel, Ambassador Huckabee has demonstrated exceptional love for the State of Israel and the Jewish people," Mizel said. "He has consistently recognized the historical connection of the Jewish people to this land and has stood by us with determination."
Mizel also addressed Huckabee's actions during the recent conflict with Iran and the cooperation between Washington and Jerusalem during that period. "At one of the most significant moments in our shared history, Ambassador Huckabee stood with the Jewish people and the State of Israel," he said. "He remained a strong and uncompromising voice for Israel and for the alliance between the United States and Israel."
The "Abraham Torch" award is presented by the Museum of Tolerance to figures who, according to the institution, work to promote tolerance, mutual responsibility, human dignity, and dialogue between communities and nations.
This is the second consecutive year that the U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem has held its Independence Day event in partnership with the Museum of Tolerance. This year, the event was held under the title Freedom 250, marking the 250th anniversary of American independence.
