Yemeni Houthis Call Egypt's Military Aid to Saudi Arabia a Declaration of War
Houthi leadership condemned Egypt's parliamentary approval of military aid to Saudi Arabia as a declaration of war, amid intercepted ballistic missiles and escalating displacement in Yemen.

A senior Houthi official in Yemen denounced the Egyptian parliament's approval of military assistance to Saudi Arabia as a "declaration of war" against Yemen. Mohammed Ali al-Houthi, a member of the Houthi political bureau, strongly criticized the move, arguing that while regional peace is being discussed, Cairo is officially supporting the defense of the kingdom.
The Egyptian parliament overwhelmingly voted to authorize the deployment of military forces outside the country for a defensive mission in Saudi Arabia. The decision follows a pledge by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi earlier this month to provide Riyadh with all necessary forms of assistance to counter threats from the pro-Iranian movement.
Meanwhile, the Saudi-led military coalition announced the successful interception of multiple ballistic missiles and explosive drones launched by the Houthis toward Riyadh, the eastern region, and the southern part of the kingdom. The escalation has severely impacted the civilian population in Yemen, displacing over 270,000 people and forcing thousands to flee across the Gulf of Aden to Djibouti.
