An 8-year-old boy from Holon who was severely bitten in the head by a neighbor's unmuzzled dog will receive 70,000 shekels in a legal settlement following years of trauma.

Dog Attack in Holon Leaves Child Injured
An 8-year-old boy from Holon was severely attacked by a neighbor's German Shepherd near his home, an incident that has left him with lasting physical and psychological scars. The dog, which was wandering without a muzzle, knocked the child to the ground and bit him in the head. The victim was rushed to Ichilov Hospital unconscious, suffering from severe head trauma and a deep scalp laceration.
Permanent Disability and Psychological Trauma
Following the attack, the boy was left with chronic sensitivity, making it difficult for him to wear a hat or a helmet. A plastic surgeon examined the child and determined he sustained a permanent 10 percent medical disability due to the scarring. Furthermore, the boy developed a phobia of dogs, sleep disorders, nightmares, and social anxieties.
"There is no amount of money that can compensate for the trauma that we as parents went through, and especially what the child went through," the parents stated.
Legal Settlement and Warning to Owners
To spare the child from prolonged legal proceedings, the parents reached a settlement with the dog owner, securing 70,000 shekels in compensation. Their attorney, Yifat Lasri, emphasized that victims of dog attacks may be entitled to significant financial compensation regardless of whether negligence by the owner can be proven.
