Yoaz Hendel Warns of New Elections After Split with Chili Tropper
Former Minister Yoaz Hendel warned of an impending election cycle following the dissolution of his political partnership with Chili Tropper. Hendel is currently holding talks with Benny Gantz and Ayelet Shaked.
Following the announcement of the dissolution of his political partnership with MK Chili Tropper, former minister Yoaz Hendel stated on Sunday that Israel is rapidly heading toward another round of national elections.
Political Realignment and Negotiations
Hendel has recently held talks with his former party leader, Benny Gantz, and developments on this front are expected. He has also held discussions with former minister Ayelet Shaked, who has ruled out joining any political alliance that consists solely of Gantz and Hendel.
Previously, Hendel and Tropper established the "Beit Tzioni-HaMiluaimnikim" (Zionist Reservists' Home) movement. However, recent reports indicate a political rapprochement between Gadi Eisenkot and Chili Tropper, suggesting that Tropper may join Eisenkot's "Yashar!" party without Hendel.
Hendel Responds to the Split
In a video message, Yoaz Hendel addressed the political separation:
"Chili is a brother and a friend, and I respect his decision to join the bloc. It pains me personally, but mainly on a national level. However, reservists like us, who have served hundreds of days and paid a heavy price, do not despair. The path chosen by the reservists' party is not easy, but we believe with all our hearts that our path is the right thing for the people of Israel. Politics is a means, not the end. Our goal is a Zionist government."
Earlier, Hendel and Tropper released a joint statement emphasizing their 20-year history of friendship, neighborliness, and shared military reserve service, clarifying that despite their different political paths, there is no bad blood between them.
