17-Year-Old Killed in Criminal Hit-and-Run and Shooting in Hadera
A 17-year-old teen was killed in a suspected criminal hit-and-run and shooting incident at a Hadera shopping complex. The driver was arrested.
A 17-year-old teenager was run over and killed overnight between Thursday and Friday at the Village shopping complex in Hadera, while the driver of the car sustained minor injuries. According to the police, gunshots were also heard at the scene, and the background to the incident—both the shooting and the vehicular attack—is criminal, prompting a murder investigation.
The driver was injured by gunfire and subsequently arrested. "An initial investigation indicates that the incident began with a confrontation between the parties, during which a 17-year-old was run over, followed by gunfire at the scene," police stated. Large forces from the Hadera police station arrived, collected evidence, and handed the investigation over to the Menashe Yamar central unit.
The incident was reported to the Magen David Adom 101 hotline in the Sharon region at 01:40. Paramedics described finding the teenager unconscious, pulseless, and breathing-less with severe head trauma in the commercial center's parking lot, and pronounced him dead after unsuccessful resuscitation efforts.
