Hadassah Medical Center Opens First International Facility in Cyprus
Hadassah Medical Center inaugurated its first international facility in Limassol, Cyprus, and announced plans for a new hospital in Nicosia, marking a historic healthcare milestone for Israel.

The Hadassah Medical Center, founded in Jerusalem over 115 years ago, has inaugurated a new medical facility in Limassol, Cyprus, named HADASSAH MEDICAL CENTER CYPRUS, while simultaneously planning a new hospital in the Nicosia region. This marks a historic milestone as the first Israeli medical center established outside Israel, reflecting the growing ties between Israel and Cyprus in energy, security, economy, and now healthcare.
At the official opening ceremony, Israeli President Isaac Herzog defined the event as a new and significant chapter in the partnership between Israel and Cyprus, emphasizing that it symbolizes a bridge between the two nations and dedicated professionals committed to improving human lives. The Limassol center, which opened its doors a few weeks ago, offers a wide range of advanced medical services, including innovative medical imaging such as MRI and CT, cardiology, neurology, laboratory medicine, specialized clinics, rehabilitation, and preventive medicine based on Hadassah's high standards and ongoing professional consultation from Jerusalem.
In parallel with the Limassol center, extensive plans have been approved for a new hospital in the Nicosia region, which will include inpatient departments, research activities, and collaborations in medical education and training. Dalia Itzik, Chair of the Hadassah Board of Directors, noted that establishing Hadassah in Cyprus brings the institution's heritage, knowledge, and medical expertise to a new region while strengthening long-standing friendships. Prof. Yoram Weiss, Director General of Hadassah, added that the new center embodies the vision of expanding medical boundaries beyond hospital walls to heal, save lives, and teach across borders.
