Gilboa Regional Council Launches Free G-LINE Public Transport Network
The Gilboa Regional Council is launching the free G-LINE public transport network, connecting 33 communities with eight routes to reduce private car dependency.
The Gilboa Regional Council is launching a free regional public transport network called G-LINE starting this Sunday, connecting 33 communities to educational, cultural, and sports centers.
New Public Transport Network
Operating in a pilot phase from Sunday through Thursday between 3:00 PM and 9:00 PM, the service utilizes 18 yellow buses across eight lines. The initiative aims to reduce reliance on private vehicles and parental carpools, enabling children, teenagers, and senior citizens to independently access activities and neighboring towns.
Hubs and Technological Integration
Routes converge at two main transit terminals in Yael and Ein Harod, with Line 4 connecting the two terminals. Schedules and routes have been integrated into the Moovit application, and all stations and rides will be monitored by the council's control center.
"Our test will not be how many buses are driving on the road, but whether in a few months a resident in Gilboa feels that the space in which they live has become more accessible, closer, and freer," stated Council Head Dani Atar.
