George Clooney to Open New Italian Restaurant in Picturesque Provence
Hollywood star George Clooney is opening a new Italian restaurant in the Provençal village of Cotignac, near his family estate in France.
George Clooney is embarking on a fresh professional journey. The Hollywood star, who became a French citizen alongside his wife Amal last December, is continuing to put down roots in the country. Overseas reports indicate that Clooney is set to open a new Italian restaurant in the picturesque Provençal village of Cotignac. The location is very close to the massive estate where he lives with his wife and their 9-year-old twins, Ella and Alexander.
A New Culinary Venture
The restaurant, slated to open its doors this coming spring according to the Daily Mail, is a collaboration between the actor and Canadian entrepreneur and investor Graham Porter. Renovation work on the site is already in full swing, and the mayor of Cotignac, Jean-Pierre Véran, has confirmed Clooney's involvement in the project.
I do a lot of the cooking in the family, Clooney previously shared about his culinary role at home.
Embracing the Quiet Life in France
The move combines two of Clooney's greatest passions: the quiet life in France and his long-standing romance with Italy, having owned the famous Villa Oleandra on Lake Como for over two decades. Last year, in an interview with Esquire magazine, he spoke about his family's retreat from the California spotlight, noting that people in France simply do not care about celebrity culture.
